Forest in Cotton Candy

Forest in Cotton Candy

How does one capture a forest in art? If you're in a forest and you look around, there are trees near and far, and up and down as well. How can you paint them? Where do you begin?

I had such great positive feedback with this piece that I just had to share it with you. I absolutely love this particular watercolour-forest style with the trunks in the foreground. This one went a little circus on me when I mentally let go of the typical boreal forest colours and temporarily turned myself into a unicorn.

Since I spend a lot of my adventuring time hiking and snowshoeing through various forests, I will definitely be painting more forest scenes.
