New Kincardine Lighthouse, Conté
I worked in Kincardine for a year or so back in 2014, and I just LOVED it there. I found it so quiet and so beautiful. The shores of Lake Huron border Kincardine on the West and farmland extends East, with similarly beautiful towns North and South along the coastline. When I set out to sketch the Kincardine lighthouse, I originally meant to create a series of quick sketches, but the subject of the artwork (the lighthouse), was so interesting that I found myself pulled in to the angles and architectural details that this conté sketch ended up being much more precise.
Not sketched, is the next lowest window of the tower, as well as the rest of the building! The tower, in real life was built right on top of the light keepers house. Someday I shall have to return to beautiful Kincardine and sketch the entire thing.
