The Annual Cambridge Studio Tour 2018, saw this charcoal beauty come to life during LIVE drawing in Preston. Folks on the tour could stop by our location and watch real artists drawing real models in REAL TIME! Of course, this group of drawers usually draws NUDE models…. But for the public’s eye, we had our model keep his boxers on!

Starting with a quick sketch using friable vine, I formed a basic outline, adjusted the proportions and fixed incorrect angles. After I dug in a little deeper with the darker shades, I was able to wipe off the vine marks, erase areas for highlight, smudge the whole thing, and start the next layer.

I haven’t taken this one in to get printed yet, but if there is enough interest (let me know!) then I will. With that being said, make sure you let me know which pieces are your favourite, it will help me to decide which pieces I choose to make prints of next!
